ECOFI and 11 allies call for changes to the extended REACH requirements in the EU Fertilising Products Regulation to Support Innovation in Organic-Based Fertilisers

Extended REACH requirements, referred to as REACH+ in our position, create additional complexity and costs that restrict competitiveness, particularly for small and medium-sized businesses (SMEs). At the same time, they don’t lead to any enhanced benefits for safety or environmental protection. In our joint position paper, we highlight these unintended effects and offer constructive solutions that uphold strong standards while making the regulation more practical and innovation-friendly to boost EU competitiveness, sustainability and farmer access to critical agricultural inputs.
